Edna Pauline Styles Evans, age 84, was born to the late Benjamin and Rebecca (Gilland) Styles on January 29, 1928. She departed this life at 4:02 pm on October 22, 2012. Edna was a member of Edgemont Church of God, and was an employee of Stokely Van Camp for more than 30 years before retiring. Edna was preceded in death by her former husband the late John Evans; together they had five children, Barbara Evans, Bobby Joe (Pat) Evans, Dean (Wanda) Evans, Mary (Steve) Fox, and Kathy (Lannie) Kyte; grandchildren, Brian (Ashley) Evans, Christa (Mickey) Stewart; great-grandchildren, Mekhi and Christana Stewart, “special” granddaughter, Brittany (Jamie) Spradlin; “special” great-grandson, T. J. Spradlin. She was also preceded in death by her sisters, Rendy, Mae, Cori, Myrtle; brothers, Dave, Garfield, Monroe, Ernest, Luther and Dewey Styles. She was also survived by several nieces, nephews, and special friends, Lorene Moore, Motella Pierce and Tab Evans, Glen Shoemaker and everyone at her church. The family would like to thank everyone for their prayers, and all the kindness during the loss of their loved one. Funeral services will be held 8:00 pm Wednesday, October 24, 2012 in Manes Funeral Home Chapel, with Bishop John Nations and Brother Steve Johnson officiating. Burial will be held 11:00 am, Thursday, October 25, 2012 in Resthaven Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm Wednesday at Manes Funeral Home prior to the funeral.
