Marcia Elisabeth (Olds) Singley Age 75 of Mount Lebanon, Pennsylvania passed away at home on Sunday, August 10, 2003. Beloved wife of Bill Singley for 49 years; loving mother of Molly Singley and David (Joanne) Singley and grandmother of Lauren and Andy Singley. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Lark March, of Kennett Square, PA and her aunts, Ruth Olds and Doris Stark of Lockport, NY. Marcia devoted most of her life to community service. She was a past Regent of the Pittsburgh Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution and also held national office in that organization. She served as President of the Fort Pitt Society, owners of the Fort Pitt Blockhouse in Point State Park. Marcia was State Regent and held several national offices in the Daughters of the American Colonists. She was President of the Federation of Independent School Alumnae, founders of Harmarville Rehabilitation Center, from 1977 to 1981. She also served on Harmarville's Board of Trustees and was a key member of the fund-raising effort to build Harmarville's facility in Indiana Township. Marcia was an active member of Winchester Thurston School's Alumnae Association, where she served on numerous committees, including Alumnae Association President. In 1984, she was honored by being named Winchester Thurston's Alumna of the Year. She was a member of the Magna Charta Dames, Colonial Dames of the XVII Century and the Eastern Star. Marcia participated actively in the life of Southminster Presbyterian Church and was a leader in the effort to raise funds for Mackinaw City, Michigan's Public Library. Marcia was a graduate of The Winchester Thurston School. She obtained her undergraduate degree from Swarthmore College and an MBA from the University of Pittsburgh. No public visitation. A Memorial Service will be held Thursday, August 14th at Southminster Presbyterian Church, 799 Washington Rd, Pgh., PA 15228. Interment private. Arrangements by BEINHAUER'S (412) 531-4000. Family suggests memorial contributions to the National Parkinson's Foundation Center of Excellence, 3471 Fifth Ave., Pgh., PA 15213. "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the course, I have kept the faith."
