Ernest Olear Lowe obituary
- [S27] The Daily Times, http://www.thedailytimes.com/, (Blount County, Tennessee), 23 Jun 2012.
Our loving mentor took his heavenly flight Thursday morn. June 21, 2012. He fought a strong battle with pancreatic cancer to the very end. He is now pain free and safe in the arms of Jesus. Sonny was born 9/21/1935 to Olear & Edna Lowe and grew up in the Pea Ridge Community, Maryville, Tenn., with 5 brothers and 6 sisters. All his grandparents lived on adjoining property. Sonny graduated from Everett High School in 1953. He joined Army with $10 in his pocket, after his discharge he attended welding class and in 1958 he left the hills of Tennessee for Ingalls in Pascagoula. A few months later he married a brown-eyed gal (Bobbie Russell) from Everett Hill and brought her to Mississippi. Sonny worked 43 years at Ingalls and then retired to become a full time farmer and gardener, his 2 great passions in life. He always stayed busy, was a hard worker, had a strong mind (you always knew where he stood on an issue) enjoyed the stock market, an avid reader, was always punctual and dependable. He loved just being home, he loved his family. Especially those Grandkids!! They spent many hours with him while he was confined and sick. They brought so much love and happiness in his last few months. Sonny was a man of his word and expected the same from others. He leaves behind a valiant legacy, one to be remembered and cherished for generations to come. Sonny was preceded in death by his parents Olear and Edna Lowe, 2 sisters, Beulah Lowe, Betty Thompson and 1 brother Harvey. He leaves loving memories to his wife Bobbie Lowe, 3 sons: Alan (Lisa) Lowe of Laurel, Miss., Jeff (Carol) Lowe of Hurley, Miss., Darren (Bridget) Lowe of Bunker Hill, W.Va., grandchildren: Kayce Lowe, Ryan Lowe, La`Shea (Joey) Cirlot, Lynsi (Rob) Smith, Jeffrey Olear Lowe II, Clinton, Darrah and Noah Lowe, great-grandchildren; Alec, Kinsey, Blake, Ashlyn, Halie, Blaire, and little Emmie Reese, brothers, Charles, Robert, Daniel, Max, sisters; Marlene, Earnestine, Darlene all of Maryville, Tenn., and Irene from Georgia. Pallbearers are great grandsons Alec and Blake, grandsons, Jeffrey, Noah, Ryan, Clinton, Rob Smith and Joey Cirlot, honorary pallbearers; Wayne Johnson, Bobby Ray, JD Smith, Kenneth Green, Norlan Conerly, Pete Hankins, Bruce Davis, and all the retired sub workers from Ingalls. A visitation will be held Monday, June 25, 2012, from 6 to 9 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Home in Escatawpa. Services will be Tuesday, June 26, 2012, at 11 a.m. at Ridglea Heights Baptist Church in Escatawpa with Bro. Steve Cirlot officiating, with a visitation one hour prior.
