Bonnie Kate Shelton, age 88, of Newport, died Saturday, December 8, 2001 in Baptist Hospital of Cocke County.
She was a member of the Lowes Chapel Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Shelton, and son, John Ray Shelton.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, James and Shirley Shelton; daughters and sons-in-law, Barbara and Edward Poe and Shirley and Landon Giles, all of Newport; sister and brother-in-law, Rhunette and Edward Mooneyham, of Newport; grandchildren: Tommy Shelton, David Shelton, and Julie Shelton, all of Ohio; Brian Poe, of Guam; Karen Freiheit, of Virginia; Landon Giles, Jr., of Alabama; Michael Giles, of Morristown; Edward Giles, of Newport; also 11 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 8 p.m. Tuesday evening at the Manes Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Keith Presnell and Rev. Steve Smith officiating.
Burial will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Union Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday prior to the service.
