McCellion "Dale" Shelton, 74, of Savannah Street, died Friday, January 7, 2000. Born in Newport, Tenn., he was the son of the late Robert W. and Ella Burgess Shelton. He was a retired cabinetmaker and car dealer. Surviving are his friend and companion, Mary McCarson of Greenville daughters, Linda Harris and Betty Robinson of Greenville sons, Jerry Shelton of Easley and Charles Shelton of Greenville brothers, Bob Shelton and Arthur Shelton of Newport, Tenn. sisters, Myrtle Gentry, Edith Merrill and Evelyn Hopkins of Greenville seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife, Vencie Bishop Shelton, four brothers and one sister. Visitation: Today from 2 to 3:30 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown. Service: Monday at 2 p.m. at the chapel with burial in Woodlawn Memorial Park. The family is at the home of Linda Harris, 4 Singleton Circle, Greenville.
