Greenville Myrtle Shelton Gentry, 88, of 18 Savannah St., died Saturday at St. Francis Hospital Downtown.
A native of Newport, Tenn., she was a daughter of the late Robert and Ella Burgess Shelton and the widow of Lee Roy Gentry.
Mrs. Gentry was a retired employee of Dan River Woodside Mills and a member of Cedar Lane Baptist Church.
Surviving are two daughters, Mickey Nalley, and Carolyn Patat and her husband, Emory, of Greenville; two sisters, Edith Merrill and Evelyn Hopkins of Greenville; a brother, Arthur Shelton of Newport, Tenn.; four grandchildren, Danny Nalley, Alyson Nalley, Todd Patat and wife, Shelly, and Scott Nalley and wife, Monica; and three great-grandchildren, Kayla Nalley, Grace Patat and Emme Patat.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Gentry was predeceased by a daughter, Barbara Ann Gentry; a sister, Eula S. Gentry Durham; and six brothers, Paul, James, J.D., Fred, Morris, and Dale Shelton.
Visitation will be from 6:30 to 8 tonight at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Northwest, with funeral services at 3 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home chapel, officiated by the Rev. Larry Bell and Chaplain Nancy Page. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery, West. The ladies of Cedar Lane Baptist Church and the staff of 2nd floor of St. Francis Hospital Downtown will serve as honorary pallbearers.
The family is at the home of her daughter, 900 Spruce Court.
