Helen Spence Sowers, age 74 of Sevierville, passed away Thursday, December 14, 2017.
She was a Christian, loving wife and mother. She was devoted to her family and was always ready to lend a hand to those that were in need. Helen was a skilled crafter and owned several businesses over the years. She loved working in her flower gardens and spending time with her grandchildren and friends.
Helen is preceded in death by her parents Roy and Margaret Spence; brothers Carl, Blaine, Kenneth, Delmar, Ralph and Garry Spence; sisters Janice Hall and Faye Overstreet.
She is survived by her husband of 54 years Bill Sowers; daughters Rhonda Davis of Nashville, Melissa Sowers of New Mexico; step-sons Randy Sowers and wife Lora of Princeton, WV, David Sowers of Covington, VA; sister Pauline August; brothers Larry Spence and wife Jewell, Harold Spence and wife Sue; grandchildren Irvin Sowers, Nancy Sowers, Kari Cole and Tanner McReynolds; great-grandchildren Brittney, Taylor, Jaden, Jason and Brently; four great-great-grandchildren; many loving nieces and nephews, and numerous caring brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law in the Spence and Sowers families.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Smoky Mountain Children’s Home, 449 McCarn Circle, Sevierville, TN 37862.
