Mary Jo Rambo Miller, age 85 of Gatlinburg, passed away Thursday, February 3, 2011.
She was former co-owner of The Open Hearth Restaurant and the last member of the Peter Rambo family that moved to Sevier County in 1826. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Gatlinburg for 61 years and dedicated many years to making the church grounds beautiful. Mrs. Miller was preceded in death by her parents, Muncey and Dee Sharp Rambo; brother, Carl Rambo and sister, Reba Rambo Marshall.
She is survived by her husband, Jack L. Miller, Sr.; son and daughter-in-law, Jack and Amanda Miller; daughter and son-in-law, Pam and Bruce Brannon; grandchildren, Nick and Jenna Brannon, Joel and Casey Brannon, Trey Miller; great-grandchildren, Lawson and Beau Brannon, Milly Brannon; nieces, Marilyn Rohrbrough and Lucy Atchley.
Memorials may be made to: First United Methodist Church, Flower Fund, 742 Parkway, Gatlinburg, TN, 37738.
The family will receive friends 2-4 PM Sunday with funeral service to follow at 4 PM in the West Chapel of Atchley Funeral Home. Rev. Larry Dial will officiate.
