Fances Bush Clevenger, age 102 of Dandridge, TN passed away Friday afternoon,Jan 24, 2003 at the Jefferson Co. Nursing Home. She was the daughter and last surviving child of the late A. J. and Sarah Ketner Bush, fouonders of the Bush Bros. Canning Co. of Chestnut Hill. She grew up in Chestnut Hill and was educated in the Jefferson Co. schools, attending Tennessee Wesleyan College and graduating from Maryville College.. She was a member of the Chestnut Hill United Methodist church, where she was active in her church and community affairs during her earlier years. Preceded in death by her husband, Shell r. Clevenger; son, Don Bush Clevenger, who died Nov. 22, 1991; brothers, Claude Bush, Fred Bush, Alger Bush, and Burnett Bush; sister, Lena Maye Ethier. She is survived by her daughter, Carolyn Clevenger Rinehart of Dandridge; grandchildren; Donna Clevenger Owenby and husband, George, of Chestnut Hill, randy Clevenger and wife, Libby of Danridge, Tony Clevenger and wife, Kim of Chestnut Hill, Mark Slagle and wife, Agnes of Dandridge, Frances Slagle Ponder of johnson City, Shell Slagle and wife, Penny of Dandridge; Lydia Slagle of Johnson city; great randchildrenk Amanda McGaha, Jeremy Owenby, Clint Owenby, Danielle Clevenger, Greg Slagle and wife Melissa, Jennifer Slagle, Jason Ponder, Aaron Ponder, Shannon Nielsen, Ashley Norwood, Casside Norwood, Ricky Archer and Josh Archer; great great grandchildren; Devin McGaha, Ally Owenby, Alexia Slagle, Christian Archer and Zachery Archer; daughter in law, Wanda Clevenger and several nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Chrstnut Hill United Methodist Church, c/o Geraldine George, 1451 Ponderosa Drive, Dandridge, TN 37725. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, January 27, 2003 at the Chestnut Hill United Methodist church with Rev. Richard Patterson and Rev. John Clark officiating. Interment to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 26, 2003 at the funeral home.
