- The will of D. W. Trotter of Maryville, written 2 January 1930, directed that he should be buried by his first wife at Logan's Chapel near Wildwood, and that up to $200.00 should be used to purchase a suitable monument for their graves there; also that up to $100 should be used to provide a monument at the grave of his second wife Mary McTeer Trotter in Woodlawn Cemetery (Knoxville). The remaining estate after the payment of debts was to be divided between his heirs as follows: Mrs. Mary Crittendon; Mrs. Anna Belle Weber, daughter of Sarah Trotter Crittendon; Eugene and Raymond Smoker, sons of Minnie Trotter Smoker; Estelle Wynn, daughter of Lilly Trotter Wynn; I. A. Trotter, J. C. Trotter, and W. A. B. Trotter. Executors: his three sons.
