Wayne Ottinger, age 82, of Slate Creek Road, Greeneville, died Wednesday, July 12, 2006, at his home. He was a lifelong farmer and dairyman. He was a member of Love’s Memorial U.M. Church. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Evelyn C. Ottinger; a daughter, Cheryl Ottinger Reynolds and her husband, Mark A. Reynolds; two sons, Phillip E. Ottinger and his wife, Jean P. Ottinger, and John W. Ottinger and his wife, Brenda R. Ottinger, all of Greene County; eight grandchildren, Nathan Ottinger, Keith Ottinger, Grace Ottinger, Seth Ottinger, Russell Ottinger, Robert Ottinger, Alex Reynolds, and Emily Reynolds, all of Greene County; brother, Fred H. Ottinger, of Greene County; six nieces and nephews, Rocky, Danny, and David Ottinger, Sandy O. Jennings, Roscoe Cutshaw, all of Greene County; and Velvet C. Hopkins, of Huntsville, Ala.; several cousins and special friends. He was preceded in death by a son, Steven Andrew Ottinger; his mother and father, Andrew and Elva Holt Ottinger; and a sister, Willie Ottinger Simpson. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Friday at Love’s Memorial U.M. Church with the Rev. John Clark and the Rev. Richie Neese officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2 – 4 p.m. and 6 – 8 p.m. Thursday at Rose Hill Funeral Home. Active pallbearers will be his grandsons and nephews. Honorary pallbearers will be cousins, Dr. A.K. Sen and staff, his caregivers of Adventa Hospice, including a special caregiver, Paula Morrison, and his friends and neighbors of Love’s Memorial Church and community.
