He was preceded in death by his wife, Nellie Holt; son, Billy Holt; parents, Henry LeRoy and Bernice Reed Holt; brothers, Hoover, Glen, and Edwin Holt; and sister, LaVora Henry. He leaves his sons, Byrl D. (Glenda) Holt, of Elizabethton; Roger Jenkins, Brian (Edna) Holt, and Ricky (Lee Ann) Holt, of Newport; and Kenny (Cindy) Holt, of Knoxville; 12 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren; sisters, Roella and Wanda Faye Holt, and brother, Alvin Holt, all of Newport. Services will be 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 18, 2008, from the chapel of Brown Funeral Home with the Rev. Bobby Samples officiating. Interment will follow in Union Cemetery. Family received friends Monday, March 17, 2008, from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. Brown Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
