U.S. Veteran William “Bill” Ford, age 75, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 27, 2016. He was a member of Crossroads Community Church and served in the United States Army during peacetime. He retired after forty years from the Tennessee Department of Transportation. In his earlier years he enjoyed golfing and camping with his family. After retirement, he enjoyed gardening and spending time with his camping buddies. He was a lifelong member of the “Hardees Breakfast Club” along with many, many friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Charlene Ford; parents, Gladys and Georgia Mae Ford; brothers, Lynn and Roy Ford; and sister, Marlene Campbell. He is survived by son, Dr. Keith Ford (Jenna); daughter, Susan Clevenger (Rick) of Newport; grandchildren, Chelsea France (Darion), Brandon Ford, and Casey Ford; great-granddaughter, Harper France; sister, Linda Sharp; mother-in-law, Aileen Williamson; brothers-in-law, Van Fox (Phyllis), Tommy Williamson (Jemima), and Ronnie “Birdeye” Williamson; sisters-in-law, Connie Parker (Ronald), Vivian Ford, and Anita Sauceman; and many nieces, nephews, and a host of friends. Funeral services will be at 7:00 pm on Wednesday, November 30, 2016 in the Manes Funeral Home Chapel with Rick Clevenger officiating. Burial will be at 11:00 am on December 1, 2016 in Union Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4:00-7:00 pm on Wednesday at Manes Funeral Home prior to the services. Family and friends may sign the guest register online at www.manesfuneralhome.com.
