Our beloved angel, Anna Roe Nichols age 63 of Newport, went to be with our Lord on Friday June 23, 2006 at 7:15 p.m. peacefully at home with her family by her side after a lengthy and courageous battle with cancer. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and wonderful friend to many. She was of Baptist Faith. She will be missed very deeply by many devoted and loving family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents Lawrence and Annie (Dunn) Nichols, infant sister Addie Launa Nichols, infant brothers Wayne Hollis Nichols, and Ralph Burnett Nichols, sister Alma (Nichols) Stanford, brother Chester Nichols, sister Betty (Nichols) Webb, brother Marvin Nichols, sister in law Barbara Nichols, nephew George Shelton, and several aunts and uncles. She is survived by her son and daughter in law David and Debbie (Pack) Nichols of Newport, daughter and Fiancee’ Kristi Nichols and Phillip Stewart of Newport, grandchildren Tara Nichols, McKeal Nichols, DeWan Haney, and future step- granddaughter Destiny Stewart all of Newport, sisters and brothers in law Gennie Vee (Nichols) and James Moore of Newport, Willena (Nichols) and Curtis Holt of Bybee, Nartricia (Nichols) and Dean Seals of Morristown, brother Charles Nichols of Newport, sister in law Judy Nichols of Newport, several nieces , nephews,aunts, cousins, friends, family friends that knew her as “Mom” or “Grandma” as well as several friends from her employment at Food City for many years before her illness. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Sunday June 25, 2006 at Manes Funeral Home with her Homegoing Celebration at 8 p.m Sunday . Interment will be 11 a.m. Monday June 26, 2006 at Union Cemetery. The Rev. Wade Holbrook of Northport Baptist Church of Newport, and Rev. James Harmeling of First Baptist Church of Morristown will be officiating. Pallbearers will be James Moore, Dean Seals, Gene Nichols, Ricky Jenkins, Jeff Maloy and Jack Swanger. We ask everyone to continue to keep us in your thoughts and prayers as it will take time to heal our loss for now we all know we have a guardian angel looking over us all now. May God Bless You All ! Special Thank You’s go out to Dr. Anderson and Staff of Morristown, Dr. Mejia and Staff of Morristown, Dr. Sanders of Knoxville, Smoky Mountain Home Health of Newport, Dr. Kickliter of Newport , Superior Home Health and Hospice of Morristown, everyone that sent cards, said prayers, asked about conditions, made phone calls, paid visits, brought food or sent flowers.
