Wanda Dunn Sims, 75, passed away July 24, 2005, in Jacksonville, Fla.
A native of Newport, Tenn., she moved to Jacksonville from Welcome, N.C., in 1992. She had worked for the Winston-Salem Journal and Sentinel Newspaper.
Mrs. Sims was a Baptist by faith and was a member of the Mandarin Newcomers and the Bartram Trail Newcomers. She was predeceased by her father and mother, Allen Dunn and Georgia-Mae Lane Dunn; husband, William Frank "Bill" Sims, and their son, Steven Alan Sims.
Survivors include daughter, Denise Sims (Jack) Rahmes; sisters, Claudette Shults and family, Betty Nichols (Arlie) Allen and family; grandchildren, Arthur Allen Rahmes and Katherine Anne Rahmes.
The family will receive friends at Brown Funeral Home in Newport Friday evening, July 29, 2005, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 30, 2005, in Union Cemetery, Newport.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to your local hospice.
