Azzalea Lunsford Willis, age 91, of Parrottsville, passed away Thursday, February 25, 2010 at her home surrounded by family and friends. She was a faithful member of Bridgeport Free Will Baptist Church as long as her health permitted.
She is survived by her husband of 67 years Hoyle Eugene (Gene) Willis and daughters, Frances and Shirley. She is also survived by her sister-in-law Jonita Lunsford of Point Pleasant, brother-in-law Ozias Seay of Newport, brother and sister-in-law, John Lewis and Eula Willis of White Pine and several nieces and nephews.
She was the last member of the Terrell and Allie Lunsford family and was preceded in death by her parents, Terrell Anderson and Allie Lee Lunsford, her brothers and sisters-in-law Oscar and Belva Lunsford, Ance and Ethel Lunsford, Clifford and Orpha Lunsford, Emmitt and Della Lunsford, and brother Allen Lunsford, sisters and brothers-in-law, Ella and Jim Crowder, Tessie and Leonard Willis, Annie and Earnest Seay, Dorothy and Keppy Ellison and sister Della Lunsford. She was also preceded in death by her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Julis Andrew and Lillie Lee Willis, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Emerson and C. L. Willis, brother-in-law, Earl Willis, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Cora and Gray Clark, Ora and Leonard Seay, Auline and Ottie Clark, Lou Verna and Barrington Clark, sisters-in-law, Edith Seay, Pearl Willis and Beatrice Willis and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 5-7 pm Saturday, February 27, 2010 with funeral to follow at 7:00 pm in Manes Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Hal Kirk, Rev. Tim Carson and Rev. Randall Frisbee officiating. Burial will be 1:00 pm Sunday, February 28, 2010 in Union Cemetery. Pallbearers will be nephews, Clyde Willis, Herman Willis, E. J. Seay, Dwight Seay, Marvin Seay and Joe Seay.
The family wishes to say thank you to the following: The caregivers who loved and cared for our wife and mother, Smoky Mountain Home Health and Hospice, Pastor Hal and Nancy Kirk who stood by us during the extended illness and all of our family and friends who have been so faithful and caring during this difficult time.
