Motorcycle accident injures two

NEWPORT—A motorcycle accident Monday in Parrottsville resulted in injuries for a Parrottsville male and a female from Douglasville, GA.
Jennifer Moore, 21, and Joshua Brooks, 24, reportedly were traveling north on Highway 340 on a Honda motorcycle when the 4 p.m. accident occurred.
Brooks father, Larry Brooks, said both victims were flown to the University of Tennessee Medical in Knoxville by UT lifestar.
“Joshua came through surgery today [Wednesday],” He said. “He has pins and screws in his pelvic area, multiple fractures, bruises in the abdominal area and right face, and road rash.”
He said that according to Brook’s doctor, the victim will be off his feet for approximately three months.
“He busted and broke the pelvic ball on his right side, his lung collapsed, and he was really sore,” said Larry Brooks. “As for Jennifer, she went through surgery Tuesday for a broken jawbone. She also had multiple fractures in the pelvic area, had her collar bone and shoulder broken, and had two lacerations beside her ear.”
He said both victims are in good spirits.
“Joshua is in good condition and Jennifer is still in the Intensive Care Unit, but just for observation,” said Brooks. “We really appreciate the thoughts and prayers of everyone.
