Dorthy Grigsby Willis, 79, of Del Rio, loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, went home to be with her Lord on Saturday, July 19, 2003, at her residence.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Del Rio First Church of God.
Her husband, Roy Willis; parents, Waitsel and Latha (Clark) Grigsby; grandson, Kevin Ray Hill; sister, Mae Self; and brothers, Denton and Charlie Grigsby, preceded her in death.
She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law: Roy Arvin and Margaret (Green) Willis, of Del Rio; James Esten and Juanita (Wilds) Willis, of Del Rio; and Danny Lee and April (French) Willis, of Dandridge; daughters and sons-in-law: Betty and Burnett Ray Hill, of Del Rio; Lorene and Carl Byrd, of New Market; and Joyce and Wayne Ellison, of Newport; sisters: Maudie Stokely and her husband, David, of Del Rio, and Lucille Stokely and her husband, Cline, of Del Rio; brothers: Claude Grigsby and his wife, Beaulah, of Del Rio; Johnny Grigsby and his wife, Shirley, of Del Rio; Junior Grigsby and his wife, Mary, of Jacksonville, Fl.; eleven grandchildren; one step-grandson; eighteen great-grandchildren; and two step-great-grandsons.
Mrs. Willis will also be missed by several nieces, nephews, church family, and special friends.
Funeral service will be Wednesday, July 23, 2003, at 2:00 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Robert Ashley and Rev. Eugene Barker officiating.
Interment will follow at Clark Cemetery at Deep Gap.
The family will receive friends Tuesday evening, July 22, 2003, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Mrs. Willis’s grandsons and great-grandsons.
Brown Funeral Home has been honored to provide the final arrangements for Mrs. Dorthy Grigsby Willis.
