Roy Willis, 83, of Del Rio, went home to be with his Lord, Saturday, April 14, 2001.
He was a member of Del Rio First Church of God. He was retired from Stokely Van-Camp and he was also a farmer.
His parents, James Wiley and Kitty Leone Woody Willis, and Anna Mae Banks Willis, and grandson, Kevin Ray Hill, preceded him in death.
He is survived by his wife, Dorthy Grigsby Willis; sons and daughters-in-law, Arvin and Margaret Green Willis, Esten and Juanita Wilds Willis, all of Del Rio, Danny and April French Willis, of Dandridge; daughters and sons-in-law, Betty and Burnett Ray Hill, of Del Rio, Lorene and Carl Byrd, of New Market, Joyce and Wayne Ellison, of Newport; ten grandchildren; one step-grandson; seventeen great-grandchildren; sisters, Viola Fox, of Marion, NC, Jeanette Young, of Zirconia, NC, Lucy Messer, Vista Walker, Beaulah Grigsby, Rachel Fox, and Thelma Hill, all of Del Rio, and Kathleen Toby, of Bybee; brothers, Ephraim and Paul Willis, both of Del Rio, and U. A. and Monroe Willis, of Newport. Mr. Willis also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, church family and friends.
Funeral service will be Wednesday, April 18, 2001, at 2 p.m., at Brown Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Robert Ashley and Rev. Eugene Barker officiating. Interment will follow at Clark Cemetery at Del Rio.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, April 17, 2001, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Mr. Willis’s grandsons and great-grandsons.
