(October 26, 1933 - February 8, 2012) Ralph Gentry, age 78, of Newport, went to be with his Heavenly Father, Wednesday, February 8, 2012 at Newport Medical Center. He was a Deacon of First Freewill Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dewey and Nancy Roberts Gentry; brothers and sisters, Sanford Gentry, Cassie Mae Styles, Pete Gentry, L. C. Gentry and Sanford Gentry. He is survived by his devoted wife, Barbara (Pat) Gentry of Newport; sons, Gary Gentry and wife Angie and Michael and Jennifer Gentry; five grandchildren, Amanda Walker and husband Mickey, of Newport, Meghan Gentry of Sevierville, Justin Gentry, Macey Gentry and Zackery Gentry all of Newport; great-grandson, Caden Gentry; brothers and sisters, Hazel Gentry Styles of Newport, Donald Gentry of Newport, Mary J. Gozikowski of Sevierville, Marvin Gentry of Knoxville, Remus Gentry and Jack Gentry of Newport; also brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, and a host of nieces, nephews and other family and friends. Funeral services will be held 8:00 pm Friday, February 10, 2012 in Manes Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Joe Kennedy officiating. Burial will be 3:00 pm Saturday, February 11, 2012 in Resthaven Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm Friday at Manes Funeral Home prior to the funeral services.
