BAILEY, MRS. HELEN C. - age 96, of Knoxville passed away Thursday September 20, 2012 at Shannondale Healthcare Center. Helen was born September 15, 1916 in the Bybee Community of Cocke County, TN. In her twenties she moved to Cleveland, Ohio to work in the defense plants as an inspector. She made her home in Cleveland, Ohio until she retired and moved to Bradenton, FL with her husband Freeman. She came back to Knoxville, TN in 2002 after the death of her husband and resided with her sister and brother-in-law Jean and Jim Freshour. She was currently residing at Shannondale Healthcare Center. She was preceded in death by her husband Freeman Bailey; parents Lizzie Dyke Calfee and Isaac Calfee; brothers James Calfee, Paul Calfee, and Billy Calfee; sisters Mae French, Elsie Place, and Bertha Irene Stevenson. She is survived by her loving sister and brother-in-law Jean C. and Jim Freshour of Knoxville; stepson Samuel Randy Bailey and his wife Lora of Anchorage, Alaska; step daughters Agatha Lee Lakin and Versha Osborn, both of Tall Timber, Maryland. Additional survivors include several nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the staff at Shannondale for their special caregiving through the years. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m Saturday, September 22, 2012 at Costner-Maloy Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow immediately at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Craig Cutshaw officiating. Interment will follow in New Home Cemetery. Arrangements by Costner-Maloy
