Cora Ethylene Ottinger, age 72, of Parrottsville, died Sunday, December 30, 2001 at her home. She retired from the Cocke County Board of Education. She was preceded in death by her husband, James D. Ottinger, and sister, Mary Edith Hill. She is survived by her son, Doug Ottinger, of Parrottsville, and his fiancée, Sharon Pridemore, of Harrogate; brothers, Sam Freshour and James Freshour, both of Knoxville; sisters: Kay Burnette, of Alcoa; Almeda Baker, of Seymour; Marcella Burnett, of Newport; Elizabeth Freshour, of Newport; and Brenda Burns, of Sevierville; and a host of nieces and nephews. The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, January 1, 2001 at Manes Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Richard Kinsland and Rev. Harvey Evans officiating. Burial will be in Faubian Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 until 9 p.m. Monday at Manes Funeral Home. Manes Funeral Home in charge.
