William Glenn Ottinger, Jr., age 54, of Newport, passed away, Sunday, May 6, 2001.
He was a veteran of the Vietnam War, serving in the United States Marine Corps. He was employed by Mahle Corporation in Morristown, and was an avid hunter.
He was preceded in death by his father, William (Bill) Glenn Ottinger, Sr. and his mother, Suella Fancher Ottinger.
He is survived by his wife, Sharon (Dennie) Mason Ottinger, of Newport; daughter, Mason Lynn Ottinger, of Newport; brother and sister-in-law, Rodney Ottinger and Carrie Morich, of San Diego, CA; stepmother, Jennie Ottinger, of Johnson City; mother-in-law, Clydia Mason; sister-in-law, Diane Rice and brother-in-law, Tim Rice; niece, Kandus Rice; brother-in-law, Randy Cagle and Linda Powell Cagle, Christy and Flint Carter, Brent Cagle, Hollie and Randy Ramsey, Miranda and Brad Ramsey, all of Newport; uncles, Curtis Ottinger, of Newport, and James Ottinger, of Parrottsville; aunts, Beulah Maloney, of Telford, and Nina Fullington, of Parrottsville.
Graveside services will be held 2 p.m., Wednesday, at Resthaven Memorial Gardens, with the US Marine Corps Reserve Unit, in Knoxville, and L/CPL Charles C. Roberts DAV Chapter #102 conducting military rites. Family and friends will meet at Manes Funeral Home, 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, to go to Resthaven for the graveside service.
The family will receive friends Tuesday evening, from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m., at Manes Funeral Home.
