CODY, JIM - age 88 of Cosby, passed away Sunday, December 28, 2003 at Baptist Hospital of Cocke County. He was a member and deacon of Denton Baptist Church, served as Road Commissioner for three terms. He was preceded in death by: his parents, George W. and Ida Spence Cody brother, Jack Cody sister Beatrice Lindsey son-in-law, R.C. Finchum. He is survived by: his wife of 70 years, Rowena Cody of Cosby sons and daughters-in-law, Brownie and Janice Cody of Newport, Mike and Gail Cody of Bell, FLA, Jerry and Julie Cody of Newport daughter, June Finchum of Sevierville grandchildren, Kelly, Kathy, Robert, James and Brad Cody, Amy Love, Chad Finchum and Carolyn Ferguson also twelve great grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at Manes Funeral Home Chapel with funeral services following at 8:00 p.m. with Rev. Gene Watkins officiating. Graveside service will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday in Union Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Denton Baptist Church. Manes Funeral Home in charge.
