Iris Dale Glenn Wood of Wears Valley, Sevierville, TN. born December 12, 1949 in Newport, TN, passed away after a lingering illness, Wednesday afternoon April 30, 2003 at St. Mary’s Hospital, Knoxville, TN.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Newport.
Iris Dale was preceded in death by her parents, Alan T. and Rebecca Hall Freeman Glenn.
She is survived by her husband, David Wood II, of Wears Valley; her beloved children, Melissa Bloomer and Alan Fox, of Knoxville, TN; step children, David Wood III; and grandchildren, Savannah Bloomer, David Alexandria Wood IV, and Alexis Nichole Wood.
In addition to her immediate family members she was survived by brothers and sisters-in-law, Paul and Imogene Freeman, Rolan and Betty Freeman, and Dan and Dorothy Freeman, all of Newport; sisters-in-law, Mickey Freeman, of Morristown, TN, and Eula Freeman, of Newport; uncles, Frank, Ransom and Alford Hall; aunts, Mary Raines, of Newport and Ellen Bailey of Illinois.
Funeral Service will be 8 pm Friday, May 2, 2003, at Manes Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Scott Gorrell officiating.
Graveside Service will be 11 am Saturday, May 3, 2003, at Union Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, prior to the service.
