Mr. Leroy Ellison, Jr., age 48, of Newport, passed away Thursday afternoon, May 15, 2014.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents Darnell and Susie Freeman and Clayton and Lillie Ellison and aunt Marlene Jenkins.
He is survived by his parents Leroy and Orlevia Ellison of Newport, sisters Vickie (Ronnie) Clevenger and Tammy Ellison, all of Newport; brother Skip (Rebecca) Ellison of Newport; aunts and uncles Darnella Woody, Wendell (Joann) Freeman, Jerry Jenkins, Bobbie (Jimmy) Williamson, and Henni (Wesley) Butler, all of Newport; nephews Garrett Ellison and Jonathan Bowman; niece Jessica Wines; great-nephews Samuel Ellison and Tyler Wines. Additional survivors include a host of cousins and friends, including special friends Lisa Sorrell of Denver, CO, Nannie Hale, Cheryl Grooms, and Jerry Sisk, all of Newport.
The family would like to express their appreciation to Dr. Robert Chroinna, Dr. Jeffrey Brown, Dr. Hobart Ford, Jr., Jabo and Tammy Francis, the staffs at Jabos’ Pharmacy and Smoky Mountain Home Health.
The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 17, 2014, at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, 1270 Cosby Cut-Off Road, Newport, TN 37821, with Rev. Robert Williamson and Rev. Leon Large officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00—2:00 p.m. prior to the service. Interment will follow in Union Cemetery.
