He was preceded in death by his father, Warren G. Freeman; grandparents, T.E. Freeman, Rebecca Freeman Glenn, Walter and Mae Phillips. He is survived by his wife, Kay Freeman, of Hartford; sons, Stephen S. Freeman, of Johnson City, and Joseph Lee Owings, of Hartford; mother, Eula P. Freeman, of Newport; brother, David Freeman, of Newport; brothers and sisters-in-law, Wayne and Anne Freeman, Donnie and Julie Freeman, all of Newport; sister, Brenda Oakley, of Tampa, Florida; sister and brother-in-law, Linda and Freddie Earley, of Hendersonville, NC; granddaughter, Sierra Owings; several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. The funeral will be 2:00 p.m., Thursday, at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church, Grassy Fork, with Rev. Randall Freeman and Rev. Ransom Hall officiating, with burial in the Clark Cemetery in Del Rio. The body will lie in state from 1:30 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the church prior to the funeral service. The family will receive friends Wednesday, from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Manes Funeral Home. Manes Funeral Home in charge.
