(December 22, 1946 - April 14, 2015) Winnie Brown, age 68, of Cosby, passed away Tuesday, April 14, 2015. Winnie was a lifelong member of Gravers Chapel Baptist Church. She was a devoted Christian. Her passion was helping anyone in the community with their children or wherever she could be of help. She dearly loved each child she cared for as her own. Winnie was preceded in death by her parents, Eldridge Brown, Ola V. Phillips and Beecher Phillips; brothers, Wilburn Dallas and Eldridge Brown, Jr.; niece Angela Baase; nephew, Trevor Phillips; and sister-in-law, Joy Brown. She is survived by her brother, Willie Brown, of Newport, Tony Phillips and his wife Donna, of Cosby, Jeff Bush and his wife Sandra of Ohio; sisters, Fonda Phillips, Tammy Ford and her husband Alvin of Cosby; special nephews and their wives, Josh and Heather Ford, Sam and Tiffany Phillips, all of Cosby; dearly loved great-nephew, Lofton Ford and great-niece, Cambri Phillips. Winnie also is survived by;several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends that she loved very much. Each held a special place in her heart. Funeral services will be held at 7:00 pm Thursday, April 16, 2015 in Manes Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Scott Gorrell and Bruce Baxter officiating. Burial will be held at 10:00 am Friday, April 17, 2015 in the Sutton Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm Thursday at Manes Funeral Home prior to the funeral service.
