Thurlia “Mammaw” Quilliams age 89, of Sevierville born July 15, 1921 died peacefully at home surrounded by family at her side. She was born in the Greenbriar section of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park to Ira Thomas Whaley and Florence Elizabeth Whaley and was the last living child of twelve. She will be sorely missed by her children, grand, great, and great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Garfield Quilliams; infant daughter, Ida Faye; daughter, Virginia Landreth and husband Dick; son-in-law, John Seago; and grandsons, Jon Richard Cole and Randy Christopher.
She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law Shirley and Rex Christopher of Orlando, FL, Georgia and Bill Cogdill, Betty and Jim Cole, Sandra and Stefan Perez of Las Vegas, NV, and daughter Barbara Seago. Sons and daughters-in-law Jack and Sharon Quilliams, John and Debbie Quilliams and Mike and Lisa Quilliams. Twenty four grandchildren, thirty eight great-grand children, and seven great- great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 5-7PM Friday with funeral service to follow at 7 PM in the West Chapel of Atchley Funeral Home. Rev. Jon Sims and Rev. Joe Cole officiating. Family and friends will meet 11AM Saturday at Zion Grove Cemetery for graveside service and interment. Arrangements by Atchley Funeral Home, Sevierville. (www.atchleyfuneralhome.com)
