Martha Ruth Watson, 78, of Sevierville passed away on Saturday, October 28, 2017. She was born June 3, 1939 in Knox County. Martha was a Licensed Practical Nurse and worked at Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center for 27 years. She was selfless and cared very deeply for others.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Lillian Davis; her first husband, James Smith; son, David Smith; step-son, Gary Smith; and sister, Sterley Ingle Wilson.
Martha is survived by her loving husband, Jack Watson; step-sons, Tony and Darrell; step-daughter, Jeannie and husband, Dwight; step-grandchildren, Audrey and her husband, Corbitt, Kellie, Regina, and Jennifer; brother, Kenneth and wife, Terry; sister, Katherine; and several nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to express their gratitude to the nurses of Three West at Fort Sanders and Cindie Franklin for their kindness and care.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Thompson Cancer Survival Center, 1915 White Ave, Knoxville, TN 37916.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 PM Monday, October 30th with the funeral service to follow at 7 PM in the West Chapel of Atchley Funeral Home, Sevierville. Rev. James Hutson will be officiating. Family and friends will meet 2 PM Tuesday at Highland South Memorial Park, Knoxville for the graveside service and interment.
