- He was educated at Wooster College, B. A. 1891, M. A.; John Hopkins
University, Ph. D. 1897; Wooster awarded him an honorary D. Sc. in 1925. From
1899 until his retirement in 1940 Dr. Henderson was at Ohio State University as
Professor of Inorganic and Physical Chemistry 1908-1940, Dean of the College of
Arts, Philosophy and Science 1921-1927; for many years he was Chairman of the
Entrance Board and was a member of the Faculty Committee to advise the Board of
Trustees. Mrs. Henderson, a graduate of Wellesley College, was founder of the
Lincoln School for Girls in Providence, Rhode Island, and later was a volunteer
worker at the Henry Street Settlement in New York City.
