BARGER, DOYLE - of Parrottsville, died Friday, January 21, 2000 at Baptist Hospital of Cocke County. He served on the Farm Bureau Board of Directors, Cocke County Co-op, a member of the American Angus Association, and past president of Newport Tobacco Board of Trade. He spent his life on the farm doing what he loved most, raising tobacco and cattle. In his later years, he was know as the owner of tobacco warehouses in Newport. He was preceded in death by parents, C.W. and Mayme Barger. He is survived by his wife, Sue Easterly Barger of Parrottsville; daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Richard Smith of Parrottsville; son and daughter-in-law, Bob and Patricia Barger of Parrottsville; grandchildren, Robert and Whitney Chambers of Newport and Cari Beth and Casey Barger of Parrottsville; great grandchildren, Alex and Arin Chambers of Newport; sisters, Edith Shaver of Parrottsville and Ruth Matthews of Mosheim; special friends, Cheryl Hartsell, Chad Presnell, Leanne Gregg, Nathaniel Wheeler, and Linda Green. Pallbearers will be Gary Sparks, Jr., Neil Rader, Bill Sparks, Herbert Sane, Donnie Shaver, and Brent Matthews. The funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday January 22, 2000 at the First United Methodist Church with a private burial to follow. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Luther Memorial Lutheran Church Cemetery Fund, Lincoln Ave. Church, or First United Methodist Church. Manes Funeral Home in charge.
