Mrs. Iva Mae Hawk, age 90, of Parrottsville, passed away on Sunday, April 29, 2001, at Mariner Health of Newport.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Maurice Hawk; parents, John and Bettie Barger; and five brothers and three sisters.
She was a life-long member of Luther Memorial Lutheran Church and a charter member of the Natural Bridge Ruritan Club.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Jack and Sue Hawk, of Parrottsville; grandson, Mark Hawk, of Parrottsville; sister and brother-in-law, Louie and Charlie Gregg, of Newport; sister, Flora Smith, of Parrottsville; brother and sister-in-law, Fred and Mattie Rhea Barger, of Parrottsville; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 8 p.m., Tuesday evening, May 1, 2001, at Costner-Maloy Funeral Chapel, with Pastor Paul Parlow officiating. Interment will be 10 a.m., Wednesday, May 2, 2001, at Union Cemetery. Pallbearers will be John Lewis Barger, Bobby Barger, Jimmy Wardroup, Charlie Williams, Donnie Shaver. Honorary pallbearers will be Cleo Balch and David Wayne Smith.
Family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m., Tuesday evening, May 1, 2001, prior to the 8 p.m. funeral service.
