January 7, 1929 - April 24, 2016 Resided in Sevierville, TN Jim Kyker, age 87, of Sevierville passed away Sunday, April 24, 2016. He was born, raised, and lived his life in the Alder Branch Community and was a member of Alder Branch Baptist Church. He was employed by BellSouth from 1955-1982, was a member of the CWA, and was a Mason. Jim was a founding member of the Sevier County Volunteer Rescue Squad, serving from 1959-2016. On the state level, Mr. Kyker was Past Regional Vice President and Past-President of Tennessee Association of Rescue Squads. He was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Lela "Tip" Price Kyker; parents, Mack Blaine Kyker, Sr. and Nora Atchley Kyker; and sister, Blanche Benson. Survivors: Daughter: Jeanne Kyker Alred and husband Keith; Son: Tony Kyker; Grandchildren: Jadie Singleton and husband Clint, Angel Simcox and husband Bo, and Robbie Alred; Great Grandchildren: Carolina and Crosby Singleton; Brother: M.B. Kyker Jr. and wife Betty; Nieces and Nephews: Ann, Brenda, Debbie, Jo Mack, Jane, Barbara, Melba, Bryan, and Jerry: Former Daughter-in-law: Kim Funeral service 7 PM Wednesday in the West Chapel of Atchley Funeral Home with the Rev. Jim Hudson officiating. Interment 10 AM Thursday in Alder Branch Cemetery. The family will receive friends 4-6:45 PM Wednesday at Atchley Funeral Home.
