Member of Headrick's Chapel Baptist Church in Sevier County. Preceded in death by husband, Mack Maples; sons, Ernie Maples and Elmer Maples and daughter, Dorothy Harris. Survivors: daughters, Ruth Caldwell and Ann Staley, both of Alcoa; sons, French Maples and Ralph Maples, both of Maryville; 24 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren, and 22 great-great grandchildren; brothers, Ernest Walker of Knoxville and Fred Walker of Sevierville; sisters, Myrtle Trentham of Lenoir City and Ina King of Illinois; several nieces and nephews. Family and friends will meet at 2 p.m. Saturday, October 7, 2000, at Mattox Cemetery in Sevier County for graveside service and interment, Dr. John Sharp officiating.
