James “Von” Ogle, age 75 of Gatlinburg, passed away Tuesday, August 28, 2012. He was a member of Roaring Fork Baptist Church. He was owner and operator of Ski View Motel in Gatlinburg for 40 years. He was an avid fan and supporter of Gatlinburg-Pittman football. Mr. Ogle was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Pearl Ogle; siblings, Roy C. Ogle, Lois McCarter, Wanda Watson. Survivors include his wife, Marjorie Ogle; daughters, Linda Slone and husband Gary, Angela Slusher and fiancé Gary Smith; son, Rocky James Ogle and wife Becky; grandchildren, Tyler and Laura Slone, Robby and Kristen Slusher, Michael, Jimmy, and Carla; nieces and nephews, Steve Watson, Judy McCarter, Jay and Marc Ogle, Kelyn Bledsoe. The family will receive friends 5-7 p.m. Wednesday with funeral service to follow at 7 p.m. in the West Chapel of Atchley Funeral Home with Rev. Kim McCroskey officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be the coaching staff and players of the Gatlinburg Pittman High School football team. Family and friends will meet 10 a.m. Thursday in Roaring Fork Cemetery for interment.
