He was preceded in death by his wife, Bonnie Benson; parents, John and Mary Benson; sisters, Hazel Hannah, Lucille Webb, Ethel Hannah, and Margaret Sutton; brothers, Rex Benson and Mack Benson. Mr. Benson is survived by his daughter, Jo Ann Benson; daughter and son-in-law, Gail and Ronald Gene Costner of Cosby; and son, Terry Benson of Gatlinburg; grandchild, John Ball of Cosby; brother, Cleve Benson of Newport; additional survivors include several nieces, nephews, and friends. Funereal services will be held 8 p.m. Monday evening February 16, 2009 at Costner Maloy Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Bill Jenkins and Rev. Leon Large officiating. Family and friends will meet at 10:45 a.m. Tuesday at Catons Grove Cemetery for the 11 a.m. interment. Family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday evening at Costner Maloy Funeral Home. Arrangements by Costner-Maloy.
