Mrs. Ethel M. Bryant, age 92, of Newport, passed away Sunday, December 15, 2013, at her home. Mrs. Bryant was of the Baptist faith. She was preceded in death by her husband Ottis Spot Bryant, her daughter June Bryant, who passed away at birth, her son and daughter-in-law Ruble and Otabe Bryant, and her parents Clellan and Rosa McCarter. She is survived by her daughters Dorothy (Herbert) Williamson, Linda (Crayton) Norris, Louella (Randall) Butler, Martha (Darius) Crum, Hattie (John) Phillips, and Judy (Glenn) Rolen, her sons Earl (Christine) Bryant and Sheryl Wayne Bryant, and sister Maggie Fine, all of Newport; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren. Additional survivors include several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends, including a special nephew and wife Hoyt (Sandy) Coleman. The funeral service will be held Tuesday, December 17, 2013, at 7:00 p.m. in the Costner-Maloy Funeral Home Chapel with Elder Maurice Shults officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00—7:00 p.m. prior to the funeral services. Family and friends will meet at 9:45 a.m. on Wednesday, December 18, 2013, at the Hannon-Bryant Cemetery for the 10:00 a.m. interment.
