Ray Eugene Suggs, age 79 of Sevierville went home to be with the Lord Saturday, April 4, 2009, after a lengthy stay at Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center.
He was a veteran of the United States Army, a charter member of the Sevier County Rescue Squad and was in law enforcement for many years. He served with the Sevier County Sheriff ‘s Department and later with the City of Sevierville, starting as a patrolman and eventually becoming Chief of Police. Mr. Suggs retired in 1996 as Captain of the Detective Division and was a member of First Baptist Church, Sevierville.
He was preceded in death his son, Dale Eugene Suggs, brother and sister-in-law Max and Wilma Ramsey.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years: Imogene Suggs

Grandchildren: Lori Hardin Hutchins and husband Bill, Christopher Suggs, and Amy Suggs
