James Philip Leatherwood, 79, of Sevierville passed away Tuesday, June 24, 2003 at the Baptist Hospital of East Tennessee.
Philip was a member of the Cedar Bluff United Methodist Church.
Philip was preceded in death by his parents, Marshall and Eva Catlett Leatherwood, brothers, Berlin and Minor Leatherwood; sisters, Winnie Emert and Estelle Flynn.
He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Faye Hurst Leatherwood; sons, Harold Leatherwood and wife Kathleen of Sevierville, Charles Leatherwood and wife Josie of Sevierville; grandchildren, Charles Leatherwood and wife Charlotte, Alan Leatherwood and wife Jamie, Sandy Manning and husband Danny; great grandchildren, Brandon, Caleb, Alex, Auriel, Katie and Nikki; brother, Serene Leatherwood and wife Ila; sisters, Lucille Flynn, Angeline Taffer and special friend, J.B. Kear.
Service will be 7:30 p.m. Thursday, June 26, 2003 at Rawlings Funeral Chapel with Rev. Danny Manning and Rev. David Smith officiating. Interment will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, June 27 at Cumming’s Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5-7:30 p.m. Thursday, June 26 at Rawlings Funeral Home.
J.B. Kear, J.B. Leatherwood, Alan Leatherwood, Charlie Leatherwood, Dwayne Flynn and Willie Taffer will have the honor of being pallbearers for Philip. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Ray Taffer and Wayne Leatherwood.
