Hugh L. Clark, 78, of Hartford, went to be with the Lord Sunday, December 19, 2004, at Baptist Hospital of Cocke County.
He was retired from the Cocke County Highway Department.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Wilma Lowe Clark; parents, Emma and Charlie Clark; and sister, Alene Pace.
Hugh L. is survived by his children, Roy Clark and his wife Brenda, John David Clark, Charles Clark and friend Darlene, and Diana Black and her husband Edward; grandsons, Edd Black and his wife Teresa, and Jamie Clark; two granddaughters, Crystal (Black) O’Dell and her husband Donald and Jill (Clark) Childress and her husband Scott; two great-grandchildren, Raile and Breez Childress.
Also surviving him are four sisters, Helen Cates, JoAnn Mooneyham, Maxine Staton and her husband Albert, and Joyce Davis and her husband Bill; five sisters-in-law, Novella Blakeley, Estive Lyda, Daisy Fulton, Martha Shelton, and Velma Barnes; and was papa to Shannon Wilson.
Mr. Clark will also be missed by several nieces and nephews.
He was an avid bear hunter and leaves behind lots of hunting buddies and special friends.
Funeral service will be conducted Wednesday, December 22, 2004, at 2:00 p.m. at Mt. Zion Baptist Church with the Rev. Randall Freeman officiating.
Interment will follow at Clark Family Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Tuesday evening, December 21, 2004, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home.
