He was preceded in death by his parents, Fletcher and Irene Ford; children, Doyle Dean Ford and Martha Jean Ford; also several brothers and sisters. He is survived by his wife, Mildred Ford, of Cosby; children, Dorothy (William) Grooms, of Newport, Robert (Debbie) Ford of Cosby; Ricky Ford of Kodak, and Barbara Cole of Cosby; brother, Edsel (Bobbie) Ford of Newport; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; very special friend Woody; also several nieces, nephews, other family and friends. The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm -7:00 pm Wednesday, June 7, 2017 at Manes Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Thursday, June 8, 2017 at Laurel Springs Christian Church, with Rev. Steve Johnson and Rev. Leon Large officiating. The body will lie in state at the church prior to the funeral service at 11:00 am Thursday. Burial will follow in the Sutton Cemetery.
