John Henry Ford, Sr., age 86, of Mosheim, passed away, Monday, March 17, 2008 at his home. He was a member of Forest Hill Baptist Church. He was saved and baptized 10 years ago.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Fletcher and Rene Coggins Ford; sons, Fletcher Ford, White Ford, Ernie Ford; brothers, Doyle, Jack, Arthur, and Boyd Ford; sisters, Gladys Brown, Echo McMahan, Mamie Holt, Rhoda Phillips, Dorothy Ford, Lottie Ford and Inez Ford; daughter-in-law, Mickey Ford; sons-in-law, Frank Dera and Fred J. Noe. He is survived by his wife, Eula Mae Brown Ford, of Mosheim; sons, John H. Ford, Jr., and Mark Ford; daughters, Sue Dera of Morristown, Janice Hunter, of Mosheim, Nancy Douglas and husband Ron, of Cederville NJ and Kathy Noe, of Morristown; brothers and sisters-in-law, Lon and Mildred Ford of Cosby, Edsel and Bobby Ford of Cosby; eleven grandchildren; six great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; special friends, Gordon Denton, John Carter and family; and the late Mathews family, Hal, Ruth and Brent. A, very special thanks to his daughter, Janice and son Mark for all the years of loving care; and Adventa Hospice, Christine Williams RN and Pastor Garland Long.
Funeral services will be held 8:00 pm Wednesday, March 19, 2008 in Manes Funeral Home West Chapel, with Pastor James Dampier officiating. Burial will be held 10:00 am, Thursday, March 20, 2008 in Ford Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm Wednesday at Manes Funeral Home prior to the funeral services.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Brown’s Chapel Church at Tobes Creek c/o Darlene Frazier, 2715 Finch Way, Hartford, TN 37753.
