Lela Jane Reagan, age 84, passed away Sunday, October 9, 2016 at home surrounded by family after a brief battle with cancer. Jane was born March 30, 1932 in Sevierville, TN. She was the youngest of five children born to Victor and Lela Love. She attended Pi Beta Phi where she was a member of the Gatlinburg basketball team. During the summers while in high school, she would rent a room with her sister, Rose, and worked in downtown Gatlinburg. During this time, Fred Oakley introduced Jane to Jack Reagan and they began a life-long courtship, marrying right after Jane graduated from high school in 1950. Soon after, Jane gave birth to their first son, Sam, followed by Dan and Mark. Jane was active in her sons' lives by being PTA president, weightlifting with son Dan, and being a homemaker. She enjoyed playing tennis, working out, traveling, and had a beautiful rose garden. After her sons were grown, Jane went to work in the family business, God's Corner, located in The Village in Gatlinburg. She worked there until her retirement in 2008. Jane loved life, loved her family, and will be missed by all.
She was preceded in death by her husband, A. Jack Reagan; sons, Samuel Lewis Reagan and Daniel Jack Reagan; father, Horace Victor Love; mother, Lela McMahan Love; brother, H.V. (Danny) Love; and sisters, Carolyn Love Riedel of Tallahassee, FL.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Mark Andrew and Kathryn Haynes Reagan; grandchildren, Melissa Reagan, Brandy Moyers and husband Paul, Charli Reagan, Todd Reagan and wife Ali, Brittany Heath and husband Jon, Kaitlin Phillips and husband Chris, and Dillon Reagan; great-grandchildren, Brooklyn Green, Paxton Reagan, Hadley Heath, Chelsey Ogle, Meagan Ogle, Alex Reagan, and Baby Phillips; sisters, Rose Love Cavallaro and husband Larry of Jacksonville, FL, Eleanor Love McMullen of Ellijay, GA; nieces, Caroline and Gary Holmes, Suzanne and Tom Shaw, all of Jacksonville, FL; and great-nieces and great-nephews, Scott Holmes, Michael Holmes, Gabriel Shaw, and Davis Shaw, all of Jacksonville, Fl.
The family will receive friends 5-7 PM Thursday with funeral service to follow at 7 PM in the West Chapel of Atchley Funeral Home. Interment at 10 AM Friday in Laurel Grove Primitive Cemetery in Gatlinburg. Online condolences can be made at www.atchleyfuneralhome.com.
