February 16, 1931 - September 22, 2017 Bobby Jack Conner, Sr., age 86 of Sevierville, Tennessee passed away on Friday, September 22, 2017at the University of Tennessee Medical Center. Born in Seymour, Tennessee to ER and Flora Conner, he lived all of his life in Sevier County. Jack was a caring, outgoing man who never met a stranger. He worked most of his life in the automotive industry as owner of the local Pontiac-Oldsmobile-GMC Dealership, Conner Motor Company and Conner Auto Parts. It is safe to say he sold a lot of Sevier Countians their first vehicle. Jack attended First Baptist Church, Sevierville. He was formerly a member of Rotary and Masons. He had also served as a city of Sevierville Alderman and County Commissioner. He enjoyed watching baseball including the Atlanta Braves and Sevier County baseball. He also enjoyed spending time at his son's business, River Plantation RV Resort visiting with guests and staff. He was loved by all and will be missed by many. Jack was preceded in death by his father ER Conner and mother Flora Shelley Conner. He is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law: Bobby Jack Conner, Jr. (Jennifer) and Jimbo Conner (Mandy); Grandchildren: Alexis and Austin Conner and Brook Henry; Sisters: Ruth Conner Henderson (Hugh) and Jean Conner; Nephews: David, Rick and Steve Henderson and niece Jeannie Brakebill. Special friends include staff at River Plantation RV Resort and caregiver Sarah Benson. In lieu of flowers, please send donations First Baptist Church, 317 Parkway, Sevierville, TN 37862. The family will receive friends 4-6:45 PM Thursday with funeral service following at 7 PM in the East Chapel of Atchley Funeral Home. Interment 10 AM Friday in Smoky Mountain Memory Gardens.
