A Sevierville woman died Wednesday afternoon after a two-vehicle collision on Gists Creek Road.
Patricia C. Runyan, 55, of Hardin Lane in Sevierville died at the scene.
Johar Laschin's 1993 Nissan pickup truck hit Runyan's Toyota Avalon at about 2:43 p.m., according to Tennessee Highway Patrolman Bob Bundren.
Laschin, 30, of Seymour was traveling up a grade across the crest of a hill and "ventured" into the oncoming lane, Bundren said. Laschin and his passenger, Michelle R. Zinnerman, 17, of Seymour, received head injuries from the crash.
Laschin and Zinnerman were airlifted to the University of Tennessee Medical Center where Zinnerman was being moved to the trauma intensive care unit Wednesday night. Laschin was still being evaluated.
Bundren said he doesn't think alcohol was a factor in the wreck.
"There is no evidence to substantiate that," he said and added that all involved the wreck wore their seat belts.
Information from the trooper's ongoing investigation will be turned over to the district attorney's office.
The Sevier County Ambulance Service, Sevier County Volunteer Fire Department, Sevier County Sheriff's Department and Sevier County Volunteer Rescue Squad responded to the scene.
