Flotella Ruth David (nee Ford), 84, left this earthly world to meet her Lord and Saviour on April 27, 2001.
Born Dec. 27, 1916, in Hartford, Tenn., in the Great Smoky Mountains, she will be remembered for her love of the Lord, and her great sense of humor. Mom's kitchen was filled with love and laughter as well as wonderful delicacies from both the South and Lebanon. She was a member of St. Joseph's Melkite Catholic Church, the Kirby Club, a charter member of the Fairlawn Women's Club, Copley PTA, and many other organizations.
Preceded in death by her husband, John Joseph David ; grandchildren, Janice and Steven Sanders; and brother, Parker Ford, she was a loving and devoted mother to son, John H. David , with whom she lived; daughters, Roberta Sanders, Mary (Jerry) Gardner, Dorothy (Roger) Lewis, Joann Meyerson (Paul) Hanna, Joyce Smith; grandchildren, Scott and Laura Sanders, Stephanie (Sanders) and Steven Flight, David Gardner, Timothy and Joseph Lewis, Lisa Kamenar, Jennifer and John Smith; great-grandchildren, Jason and Jacki Sanders, Kristen Knoch (Sanders), Bethany Flight, and Jacob Tomlinson.
Funeral Liturgy will be held Tuesday, May 1, at 10 a.m., at St. Joseph's Melkite Catholic Church, Rt. Rev. Philip Raczka officiating. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery. Friends may call at the Hummel Funeral Home West, 3485 Copley Rd., Copley, on Monday from 5 to 8 p.m. Memorials may be made to St. Joseph Melkite Church Building Fund.
