Charles Donald Smith, 40, of Parrottsville, passed away Saturday, May 18, 2002.
He was a 1979 graduate of Cocke County High School and was an employee of the Ball Corporation in Chestnut Hill, Tennessee.
He attended Harned’s Chapel United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Brenda Smith, Parrottsville; one son, Tyler Chase Smith, Parrottsville; parents: Stephane Coggins Banks, Newport; Charles Weaver and Betty Smith, Parrottsville; sisters: Kimberly Q. Smith and Pamela S. Fergerson, Newport; nephew, Matthew Stephen Baxter, Lake Jackson, TX; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Shirley Schultz and Chuck Sumner, Memphis, TN; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Sandra and John Trobaugh and family, Memphis, TN; Donna and Lewis Wright, Memphis, TN; Linda and Michael Johnson and family, Memphis, TN; Barbara and Bill Collins and family, South Mills, NC; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Earl and Brenda Schultz and family, Memphis, TN.
He is also survived by several loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and many devoted friends.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, May 23, 2002 at Harned’s Chapel United Methodist Church.
Following visitation, a memorial service will be held at the church at 7 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, gifts may be made to the Don Smith Memorial Fund, c/o Harned’s Chapel United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 1, Parrottsville, TN 37843.
Manes Funeral Home, Newport, is in charge of arrangements.
Interment will be private.
