Elbert Dale Campbell, age 73, of Parrottsville passed away at Park West Hospital on Wednesday, September 14, 2005. At the time of his passing, he was surrounded by his dearly loved family.
Dale was a teacher, coach, and school administrator for a span of 31 years. Most of that service was with the Cocke County School system. He was an avid sportsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, and other outdoor activities. He was also a skilled artist. His talents included oil painting, leather craft, and drawing.
He was a devoted husband to his wife, Barbara, of 54 years and a loving father and grandfather who enjoyed the closeness and company of his family.
Dale was of the Presbyterian faith and attended Newport Presbyterian Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elbert and Velma C. Campbell of Newport. He is survived by his wife, Barbara B. Campbell; daughters and sons-in-law, Debbie and Steve Fullington, and Terri and Tommy Denton; and grandchildren, Brooke Fullington, Brandon Denton, and Johnny Denton.
The family will receive friends at Manes Funeral Home on Friday, September 16 from 6 to 8 p.m. The funeral service will be at 8 p.m. with Reverend Calvin Metcalf officiating.
Graveside service will be Saturday, September 17, 2005 at 11 a.m. at Forest Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.
Manes Funeral Home is in charge.
