He was preceded in death by his parents, Ivan Ray and Mary Shults; and brother, Dwayne Shults. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Virginia Shults, of Newport; brothers and sisters-in-law, Jimmy and Betty Shults, of Richmond, Virginia, Roger and Lillian Shults of Newport, Harry and Betsy Shults of Arthur, TN, Larry and Heather Shults of Newport, Danny Shults of Memphis, TN, Ben and Miranda Shults of Newport; sisters and brothers-in-law, Glenda Mayfield of Cosby, Marsha and Roger Thomas of Cosby, Henrietta and Randy Hefner of Newport; sister-in-law, Martha Hicks; brother-in-law, George Hicks; his dog, Sam; special great-great niece, Kaytlyn Thompson of Morristown; also several nieces, nephews, and other special family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 8:00 pm Saturday, July 14, 2012 in Manes Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Doug Messer and Elder Maurice Shults officiating. Burial will be held at 1:00 pm Sunday, July 15, 2012 in Union Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Lynn Shults, Leslie Mayfield, Fred Allen, Earl Bryant, Don Strickland and Todd Mayfield.
